The stakes

What another year of doing nothing costs you

Nothing breaks loudly. The cost shows up as a bill that grows with headcount, a reconciliation that eats a day a month, and a payout conversation you have to defend from memory.

10 reps15 reps20 repsper seatflat

The bill climbs every time you hire

Per-seat commission tools charge you again for every rep you add. Sales Cookie states it plainly on their own billing page: pay more when you add reps. The tool gets more expensive precisely when the team is working.

one owner

Month end lands on one person

One spreadsheet, one owner, and everyone else hoping there is no mistake in it. The reconciliation is the part nobody has time for, and it arrives every single period.

Commission, June$2,730.00?

Reps dispute numbers they cannot check

When a rep cannot see how their payout was calculated, the conversation stops being about the number and starts being about trust. That is an expensive conversation to have at month end.

“I did the math and realized I wasted 216 hours manually tracking my commissions”

Hi Priya,

Here is your comp plan scan. Attached you will find:

  2. One worked example calculated against your plan as we read it
  3. Anything we could not confidently parse, flagged plainly rather than guessed

Check it against your own numbers. If something looks off, reply and tell me, that is useful information either way.

To be direct about scope

If the scan looks right, we can talk about keeping it running automatically with PayoutPilot: one flat price whatever your headcount, no charge for plan changes. PayoutPilot's current version handles flat and tiered percentage plans, quota attainment with accelerators, and per-rep quotas. It does not yet handle clawbacks, draws, true-ups, or multi-currency plans. We will tell you plainly if your plan needs one of those, rather than guessing.

Why PayoutPilot

The price stops moving when the team grows

PayoutPilot is not the cheapest way to track commissions. A spreadsheet is free. It is the option whose bill does not rise every time you hire.

One price, any headcount

Every other tool on this page except PayMyReps bills you per seat, so the bill moves every time you hire. PayoutPilot is $129/mo flat up to 15 reps and $179/mo for 16 to 25. Hire your eleventh rep and the number does not change.

Your existing plan, not a rebuild

You upload the comp plan document you already have and confirm the parsed rules yourself. There is no implementation project to schedule and no training invoice, which is what QCommission charges $500 to $2,000 for and what QuotaPath publishes a 45 to 60 day window for.

You see the price without a call

Three of the four tools above cannot tell a 12-rep buyer what they will pay without a sales conversation first. The number is on this page. So is the list of what PayoutPilot does not do.

What a 15-rep team pays, per month

Published pricing, read off each vendor's own live pricing page on 16 July 2026.

QuotaPath GrowthPer user, plus platform feeAbout $910Included, 45 to 60 daysTrial

QCommission publishes no public pricing (their pricing is behind a contact form), so their figures come from third-party software listings rather than their own site. PayMyReps prices in pounds (£349), shown here converted for comparison. Sales Cookie and PayMyReps charge no setup fee either, and Sales Cookie configures your first plan free: on setup cost, the honest gap is with QCommission and QuotaPath, not with them.

Real feedback

What people already say, in public

PayoutPilot has no customers yet, so it has no testimonials, and inventing some would be a strange way to start a product that calculates your team's pay. These are real, public quotes from Reddit and review sites, from people talking about this category and the tools already in it. None of them are PayoutPilot users. They are the reason it is being built.

On spreadsheets
We have a terrible time trying to track team commissions on Excel. I explored some Salesforce apps but turns out they aren’t as simple to implement.
r/sales, December 2025
On small-team reality
Frontline manager here, 12 AEs reporting to me. I spend way too much time pulling reports from Salesforce to figure out where each rep stands against quota. Our ops team is two people and already stretched thin so whatever we bring in needs to be low maintenance.
r/SalesOps, June 2026
On per-seat pricing
Minimum of 10 users makes it quite expensive for a small business
G2 review of Sales Cookie, August 2020
On the incumbent
One must be very computer/software savvy to use this program as it is not very user friendly, is extremely fastidious with how data must be entered. Had to analyze and design all my own checks and balances, and have reports custom built to meet my requirements (custom reports require an extra charge $).
G2 review of QCommission, July 2016
On why we do not auto-sync
File upload gives me control. I trust a CSV I’ve validated way more than a live feed that broke because someone changed a field name.

One honest counterpoint

The same research turned up practitioners arguing that a well-built spreadsheet is fine below roughly 15 to 40 reps. They have a point. If your plan is simple and your spreadsheet is not hurting, the scan will tell you that too, and you should keep your money.

Dario Verghi

Solo software builder who personally reads and checks every comp plan before anything goes live

I build small, focused tools instead of hiring a team, which means I personally read your comp plan and check the numbers before anything reaches your inbox. No support queue, no outsourced parsing, just one person paying close attention to your specific plan.

  • Every scan is read by me before it is sent
  • Nothing ambiguous is guessed, it gets flagged
  • Your plan document is not stored after the scan
  • You get a person on email, not a ticket number

What happens after the scan

The scan is a snapshot. PayoutPilot keeps it running.

This scan shows what your plan looks like today. PayoutPilot keeps it running automatically every pay period, so you never have to rebuild this by hand again, and your price stays flat as your team grows.

Calculation Match Guarantee

If PayoutPilot's calculated commissions for your first live pay period do not match your own manually verified numbers, you do not pay for that period, full refund, no questions, and we help you export your data back out.

FAQ

The questions worth asking first

What does PayoutPilot not do?

This is the honest scope boundary, and it matters more than any feature list. PayoutPilot's current version handles flat percentage plans, tiered percentage plans, quota attainment with accelerators, and per-rep quotas. It does not handle clawbacks, draws, true-ups, or multi-currency plans. If your plan needs one of those, the scan will say so plainly and you should buy something else. We will tell you which.

Is the scan really free, and what is the catch?

It is free and there is no card, no signup, and no call required. The catch, if you want to call it that, is that we hope the scan is good enough that you ask what it costs to keep it running. If it is not, you keep the scan anyway.

Is my comp plan actually read by a person?

Yes. The parse is AI-assisted, then read line by line by the founder before anything is sent. That is why it takes hours rather than seconds. Anything ambiguous is flagged rather than guessed, because a confidently wrong commission number is worse than the spreadsheet it replaces.

What do you do with my plan document?

It is emailed to the founder to produce your scan and is not stored on this site or in a database. It is not shared with anyone else and it is not used to train anything.

Can you import my setup from QCommission or QuotaPath?

Not from the vendor directly, and it would be dishonest to claim otherwise: those tools export results, not plan definitions. What you upload is your comp plan document, the PDF, spreadsheet, or doc that describes the rules. That is what gets structured.

What if my spreadsheet is working fine?

Then keep it. Practitioners in the same public threads we quote above argue that a well-built spreadsheet holds up below roughly 15 to 40 reps, and they are not wrong. PayoutPilot is worth money when the per-seat bill or the monthly reconciliation has become the problem, not before.

Why is it cheaper than the other tools?

Because it does less and because it is built by one person with no sales team to fund. The price is flat per company rather than per seat, which is a structural choice rather than a discount: it means the bill does not rise when you hire.

What happens if the numbers are wrong?

The Calculation Match Guarantee: if the calculated commissions for your first live pay period do not match your own manually verified numbers, you do not pay for that period, you get a full refund, and we help you export your data.
